Introduction: How to Make a Rude Scarf With a Silver Reed Electronic Sewing Machine

Follow these steps to learn how to use this machine and not lose your mind.

You will need:

1. yarn in one or more colors

2. patience

You will gain:

1. an arm workout

2. an offensive accessory to wear in any season

Step 1: Step 1: Thread the Thing

I have no words that will help you thread this, so here's a nice picture that you can reference. Good luck.

Step 2: Step 2: Align the Needles

Use the Needle Pusher (looks like a comb) to push the needles into the D position as shown.

Step 3: Step 3: Setting the Carriage

The carriage is the piece with the handle that you will thread, apply settings, and run back and forth to produce your offensive apparel.

Here are the settings that you will need to use:

Cam Lever to O (stockinet)

Stich Dial to 5

Russel Levers to || (symbol on right and left sides of the carriage)

Weaving Knobs to ~ (symbol on right and left sides that looks like if a tilde and a yin-yang had a baby. You will know this is in the correct position if both "street sweeper" wheels go from up to down.)

Step 4: Step 4: Using the Carriage to Align Needles the B Position

Next, slowly move the carriage from right to left across the needles. You will see the needles move from the initial D position to the B position.

Slide the carriage back to the right side.

Step 5: Step 5: Final Needle Position

Using the Needle Pusher again, push every 2nd needle from the B to D position as shown.

Step 6: Step 6: Yarn Placement

On the carriage, open the Yarn Feeder Gate lever (right is close, left is open). Place the yarn in position as shown then close the gate.

Step 7: Step 7: Finalizing Yarn Placement

Pull the yarn under the carriage arm and over needles set in the D position. Next, hold the end of the yarn while pulling the carriage across the needles from left to right until it has passed all the needles.

Knit 4 - 5 more rows by pulling carriage across the needles left to right, and right to left.

Finally, set the Weaving Knobs back to O. Continue moving carriage back and forth to knit your

Step 8: You're Doing It Wrong

If your yarn looks like the above picture, then you're doing it wrong.
