The reason it goes faster is because the wheels have a smaller contact patch, which means less friction, therefore you go faster. But with rollerblade wheels, it allows less turning, can cause wheelbite, and can catch in small cracks. to make your wheels faster, LUBE YOUR BEARINGS

yes i agree with him(benedict688)

its really true they will not go much faster somtetime not faster at all and also
slower ther is ways by tightining wheels or to turn better just
losen those truks so im not saying its a tottal lie im just
stating its not full truth

Sorry but thats not true at all. The only reason you will actually go faster is if the bearings on the roller blade wheels were better than your skate bearings. you might feel like your going faster, but thats just because the wheels have a smoother ride. I've already explained this one here like 10 times, but here we go again. Smaller wheels will pick up speed quicker, but have a lower top speed(good for park skating) and larger wheels will start slower but have a greater top speed(good for downhill). The width of skateboard wheels compared to roller blade wheels is also important for your traction. When roller blading you can angle the blades during turns to keep traction, but since skateboarding wheels are always flat on the ground you need wider wheels to get better traction. If you find a local longboard shop, or go online they will have plenty of different shapes, sizes and hardness' or wheels that are meant for skating. lastly like I said earlier, your bearings make a huge difference in your speed, cheap bearings are never fast and will never last. $5 bearings will last you and hour of skating, and $50 bearings will last you a lifetime
