Hello, I am new to Instructables and would like to share to you something called a Tabletop Rpg Board Game a tabletop rpg is basically a role playing game where you pretend you're something and do stuff and quests and things like that. The reason this happened was because, I love board games and role playing board games like Dungeons and Dragons but i got really tired of playing the same role playing board games with other people. So I decided to make my own. And I will also teach you how to make one yourself.
Step 1: The Name of the Game
First of all you will need to come up with a name for the game. This is one of the most important steps because for example, pretend you're a real person that's gonna make a real board game and you're going to present it to a group of people. What would you do when you present and you don't really have a name for it? So before all the work come up with a nice clever, funny, inspiring, or etc. name for the game. Also be sure to give credit on your board game somewhere to the real tabletop board game you copied. (If you did)
Step 2: The Board
Get some graph paper (Not recommended because of square size) or make your own like the one above it's also optional to make it smaller (REALLY RECOMMENDED to make your own) I say the size depends on how big your miniature characters are going to be. (See part 3 for miniature characters). But after you're done with that then these 2 other steps are recommended to do, 1. Make other of your graph paper and tape, glue, etc. them together, 2. paint it like the picture in the main title and put decorations and stuff like that.
Step 3: Character Miniatures
Buy or make your own, "Character Miniatures". I think you might already know what these are for, if you don't they are for moving around on the board and knowing where you are, maybe if you think making one is too hard you can maybe then use paper circles or checker circles. I recommend when you are also adding decorations to the board have like little tables or things like that to make them like the character miniatures.
Step 4: Character Sheets
Character sheets are used to keep track of stats like strength, charisma, etc. or other things like that so that you know what your character has. Most character sheets have a picture if how your character looks like (The player may draw it), stats, max health to know how much health you have when battling, mana or magic to keep track of how many when battling (Mana is optional), your attack damage, and of course your weapons and armor.
Armor reduces damage taken
Weapons increase the damage you deal
Health is health, if you run out then you're dead or just knocked out.
What I also do is that sometimes i just don't have the things like charisma or agility, because sometimes it's confusing. I also just put on character sheets these things
Name of character :
Mana does other special attacks that might do more damage. Each time you win a fight damage and defense increase. And like that you can keep things simple
Step 5: Fighting
Make a fighting system about your game, this step would probably be very easy so i'm not going to explain much.
Fighting systems are how characters are going to fight to see who's going to be the winner when there's one man standing.
