How to Make an Apple-Pecan Pie

How to Make an Apple-Pecan Pie
This is a mix of an apple and pecan pie that I made. Its just a small pie that serves 4 people (4 small slices). It takes about 1 hour to prepare and 30 minutes to bake. Enjoy!

Gather your ingredients:

Pie Shell:
3/4 cup of flour
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of white sugar
1/4 cup of butter
1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons of cold water (add more if necessary)

Filling:
1/4 cup of brown sugar, white sugar and cinnamon (mix equal amounts of each to get 1/4 cup)
1/4 cup of pecans
1/4 cup of butter
1 tablespoon of (dark) corn syrup
1 egg
1 tsp of flour
1/4 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1/4 teaspoon of imitation rum extract

1 semi-sweet apple (peeled, cored, and sliced thinly)
3 tablespoons of confectioners sugar
1/4 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1/4 teaspoon of Imitation Rum Extract

Step 1

First you need to make the pie shell.

Mix together the flour, salt, sugar, egg yolk, butter, and cold water (add more water if needed) in a small bowl. Knead the dough together until everything is thoroughly mixed.

Then roll the dough into a ball.

Refrigerate it for 20 minutes.

I'm pretty much a scrapper when it comes to my projects. I like to use what ever I have lying around the house.
