An heirloom tomato puree is really easy to make. It has a dozen uses. It only takes about an hour from harvest to finished product. This video shows you how to make the basic puree from your freshly picked heirloom tomatoes. You can add in onions, herbs, zucchini, eggplant, peppers or whatever else you have ready in your garden.

The key to this simple recipe is using a stainless steel hand blender. A puree can be frozen and used anytime and it is a base for many different kitchen dishes. Process your fresh garden produce and save it for a winter's day!
