Introduction: How to Make the Perfect Hard Boiled Egg

My mom makes these all the time because I'm a vegetarian, so hard boiled eggs are a good source of protein. I need that because I do competitive swimming. This instructable will tell you how to make the perfectly done hard boiled egg. I hate when hard boiled eggs get over cooked and turn green. YUCK!

Step 1: Ingredients, Materials, and Tools

INGREDIENTS:
6 Eggs(they peel better if they are a couple days old)
water
salt and pepper if desired

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
saucepan
stove
knife
colander
timer

Step 2: Boil

Put the 6 eggs in a saucepan and put water in it until the water is just above the eggs. Turn the burner on high and wait until the water boils. Immediately when it boils take the eggs off but leave them in the pan with the water. Put a lid on the pan. Set the pan on a unlit burner of your stove. Put a timer on for 12 minutes.

Step 3: Cold Water

Put the eggs in the colander and if you have it put ice in there too. Run cold water over them until the shell isn't warm anymore.

Step 4: Peel, Slice, Season, and Enjoy!!!!

Once I have peeled them I like to cut it in half and season with salt and pepper!!!!
