if you're going to muddle the mint leaves in the glass, add a little sugar to it too. the sugar is an abrasive and will grind up the leaves very well

Here is one improvement. Instead of molding the mint leaves in the glass, clap them two or three times in your hands. Enough flavor and aroma will be released. While drinking the mojito, there won't be small pieces of mojito leaves in the straw, too.
