Introduction: How to Make the Perfect Super Bowl Appetizer: Sausage Balls
For me, the perfect super bowl app is easy to make,
delicious and snack sized. This step by step recipe will teach you to make the perfect sausage ball. I have found about a handful of recipes I like and I have tweaked it to make it my own and I get tons of compliments every time I make them! It is so easy, here is how to make them in a few easy steps.
Step 1: What You Will Need.
For this recipe you will need: 1 pound of spicy sausage (I
use TN Pride but any brand will do), 1 package of cream cheese (8oz), 4 oz of shredded cheddar cheese (1/2 cup), 1 ¼ cup of bisquick (or any off brand).
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Step 3: Mixing the Ingredients
First mix the sausage and the shredded cheddar cheese. I have found using my hands is easiest.
Then add the cream cheese, make sure you let the package sit out of the fridge and soften before mixing!
Step 4: Gradually Add the Bisquick
Once the sausage, shredded cheese and cream cheese are thoroughly mixed add the bisquick gradually. Adding it all in at once can be difficult to mix.
Step 5: Preparing Your Pan
Be sure to put plenty of oil on your cookie sheet before adding the sausage balls or they will stick to the bottom.
Step 6: Shaping the Mixture
Roll the mixture into small balls between 1 inch balls- or larger- depending on how crunchy you would like them.
Bake between 20-25 minutes. If you have a gas oven, stay closer to 20 minutes.
Use a spatula to remove the balls from the cookie sheet and store in a paper towel lined container.Serve them to your friends and prepare to get lots of compliments!
