I mastered the art of peeling peaches. Now you can too. It's really easy.

Now you can can your peaches super quick. I made 6 quarts of peach pie filling, after hitting the 1/2 price sale at the orchard.

You will need:
Peaches
Boiling water
Cold water
Towel
Butter knife

-Drop the peach into the boiling water, and boil for 1 minute. Take the peach out and put it in the cold water. Now put the next peach in the hot water.
-Take the cold peach out and pat it dry.
-Cut around the vertical axis. (start at stem, go down and around to stem again)
-Twist and open
-Pop the pit out with your thumb
-Start at the edge, and pull the peel off. If you get good, you can get it off in one piece.

That's it.
Chop up your peaches, put them in a bowl. Then they are all ready for canning, be it peach pie, spiced peaches, whatever you want.

Watch it in action!

Here is the link to the recipe I used for the filling. I hope it's good. It sure smelled good.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing!

I peeled tomatoes heating (burning) them over the flame, but after I read that the skin of them has good properties. Today I eats tomatoes with skin.

Thanks for sharing this. I could not try this tip this year because our crop was very tiny. I will refer to this next year!

Ha, I thought this was going to be like that washing-machine chicken de-plucker and peel 12 pounds of peaches in under in minute. Same trick works for tomatoes is you need to skin them.
