Betta Food

Feed your once a day everyday some betta fish food. About once a week, don't feed your betta so their digestive system can rest. Please do not overfeed, overfeeding can pollute their water and even kill them.'" Only feed them what they will consume in 2 minutes.

They should be fed betta pellets such as Tetramin Granules Tropical Fish Food (Image 2) or Atison's Betta Food (Image 3). Don't feed them fatty betta food or fish flakes as they will not eat it.

As a treat, you can feed them freeze dried or live brine shrimp and tubifex worms.

"Feed only what they will consume in 2 minutes" is a good rule of thumb for a lot of fish, but not bettas. In two minutes, a betta can eat enough food to literally eat himself to death. They have no self-control mechanism because in the wild, food is scarce. It's better to only give him about 3-4 pellets at a time, and then eyeball his belly after a couple of minutes once the food has settled. Does his belly still look flat? If so, feed another pellet or two. Does it look bloated? Feed less next time. Otherwise, excellent guide.
