How to Put Games on your TI-84 plus or TI-84 plus silver edition
Many kids at school keep bugging me on how to do this so this is for you guys...and girls.

I figured this out by reading a lot on the Internet. I'm not some computer or calculator expert so I wont be able to answer your questions because I'm overwhelmed...and I might not know the answer.
So if someone sees a question in the comments and knows the answer please post it. Thanks.

it keeps clearing my ram =_____= someone help please?
Feb 1, 2012. 1:44 PMsuperalex11 says:
Yea, mine too. What I did was back everything up in TI-Connect and click restore when it gets cleared.

well, why don't put all the stuff in archive? Go to the memory menu, let you display all and then press enter to archive it.
Ion can't handle archived games, but a other program that can't be deleted via ram-clears called DoorsCS can, it has also a lot more features than Ion. It can be found here: http://www.cemetech.net/scripts/countdown.php?/83plus/asm/shells/dcs7.zip&location=wiki

Yes, but if if you put it in archive, when you have to clear your ENTIRE memory for quizzes, tests, midterms or finals, you will still lose it, unless your school is pretty slack and doesn't make you clear you calculator.
Feb 25, 2012. 2:11 AMSorunome says:
Then get zStart (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/429/42907.html), make it run on ram clears, get Omnicalc (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/226/22626.html) and activate the memory protection, now go to zStart and insert all Omnicalc hooks, try to put zStart again before you hand in the calculator. You'll notice that people can't visit any-more the reset menu. :)

Or use Mirage, you can set it up so when you clear the memory, it clears the memory without removing Mirage and all the games, and still displays the message all the teachers look for. You still have to be able to visit the reset menu, otherwise the teachers will just take the calculator away then you better be able to do math in your head, and fast.

It also works perfectly if you go to memory > Group > new group > add+ > press "right arrow" > press "enter". It comes with the calculator, and stays there even if the calculator is reset. To get it all put back just go back to memory > group > ungroup > select your group > press "3".
Apr 5, 2012. 3:26 AMSorunome says:
But if all your memory is deleted the groups are as well. I found a little program to overgo really EVERYTHING:
http://www.brandonw.net/calculators/fake/
Well, I didn't try it out yet thought.

I find Mirage OS works great. I used that when I was in grade 10, but my teacher found out and I was under careful surveillance after that because with Mirage OS you can make it so the calculator won't clear all its memory, but display the same message as if it had, and then people have per-programmed there calculator so they can cheat on midterms and finals. I am 2nd year University now and I use Mirage OS now, only because we aren't allowed using calculators so I use it just to play games.

For more experienced users I recommend Noshell or DSC 7.1 :P

And for the less experienced, MirageOS. Ion isnt that good in my opinion.

http://tiwizard.com/downloads/view.php?id=44ive noticed alot of people are having problems with ION... I really recommend you dont download ion. instead of downloading ION, download doors cs. just search it on google and you should find a place where you can download it. its basically the same thing as ion but its more organized and easier to use. once you have download it on your calculator just go to your applications and select it.

another problem people might have once they get the games downloaded is that doring gameplay the screen will be all wavy and slanted. this is caused by cheap screens in the calculators. so if this happens to you go here http://tiwizard.com/downloads/view.php?id=44 just run this in doors cs/mirash os/ION and your screen should be fixed...until a ram clear. if that happens just run this program again and it will work again.

btw if you get a syntax error you are not downloading the games properly... you need to open the compresed file, read the instructions more carefully

oh and make sure you backup your files on your computer using ti connect. i am almost cretain you will have to redownload everything at some point. sometimes something will mess up on the calculator and corrupt data. if something bad happens and your calculator starts to function improperly immediately erase everything ont the calculator to prevent any perminent dammage to your calculator. if you dont know how do delete everything press the 2nd button, press the + button with mem wriiten above it in blue or purple.. srry im colorblind, scroll down the page with the arrow buttons and select 7: Reset..., now at the top of the screen it should say RAM ARCHIVE ALL, press the right arrow twice so ALL is highlited, hit enter, now it should have a last warning about what will happen if you delete everything and select RESET. now your calculater should only do math problems so just hook it up to the computer and restore everything that was origionally on there.

i hope this will help some people and if you have a question or need help on something just tell me. I have downloaded many games on my calculator and have had it for about a year now... just make sure your questions are about the games on the calculator, i barely know how the math solving part works:)

can u help me plz? how do u download games for doors cs?
Feb 25, 2010. 7:15 PMchaos1267 says:
1 find a place to download games from (i like to use ticalc.org)
2 click on the file you want to download
3 open the file
4 extract all files
5 send all the game files to your calculator
6 in the window that pops up for what your downloading, look at the ends of the files
7 you want the end to say 8XP (unless your downloading an app... you can tell if its an app if the picture in the file is a calculator with a lightning bolt) NOT 83P!
8 make sure you send the files to archive and not RAM
thats pretty much it

what do i do?*
Sep 14, 2011. 10:15 PMFrodoUndead says:
Ok Friends, I have good news for everyone. The reason that you cant put the Ion on your ram is because your moving the whole folder not the 3 individual files. right click on the 1.65k folder and click extract all. then open the new folder and send all there files to your calculator. hope this helps
