Any file extension that begins .83 will not load into the TI-SmartView software, even though they are compatible with the TI-83 Plus/TI-84 Plus. To use these files:

1. Rename the extension to be a .8x file. For instance, the filename foo.83l (a TI-83 list file) would be renamed to .8xl (a TI-83 Plus/84 Plus list file).

2. Copy the file from a TI-83 to a TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus. Once the files are on the TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus calculator, use TI Connect to copy the files to the computer. The files copied over will be in the proper .8x format.

i have the program, i reinstalled it without plugging in the calculator, and tried again to connect it to the program, i plugged it in and the computer made the sound that there is a new device, but then COM4, 5, 3, 1 were not found.. i don't know what to do
