Ok Friends, I have good news for everyone. The reason that you cant put the Ion on your ram is because your moving the whole folder not the 3 individual files. right click on the 1.65k folder and click extract all. then open the new folder and send all there files to your calculator. hope this helps

It would've been nice for a file specification to tell the difference between the 1.75 KB ion file and the 1.65 KB. :\

what is your calculator's RAM?
Feb 2, 2011. 9:35 AMPikeMinnow says:
RAM, for calculators and computers, is an acronym meaning Random Access Memory.

It's a little like a desktop workspace. There are two types of memory- volatile and permanent. A hard drive is permanent, and RAM is volatile. It constantly needs to be refreshed.

Whenever a computer or calculator takes something off its permanent storage (like a hard drive where a bunch of documents are stored) it dumps a copy in RAM. The reason why it does this is so that when you aren't working on something, it's not taking up the space that the computer could be using for other things. For example, your computer turns on, and loads necessary parts of the operating system from the computer's hard drive into RAM.

Then, as you start clicking around, you open up other things like documents, and they go into RAM too. When you are done, the computer saves it back to the hard drive to make room for something else you want to do.

If you start opening too much, you can run out of RAM and a lot of times that can result in Stop Errors and BSODS because the computer is trying to do too much. It's also why if you are heavy into multitasking it is a good idea to spend a little extra on RAM so that you have more space for activity.

A calculator is just another type of computer, though it will have a lot less RAM than your desktop.

My calculator is not connected I think. When I plug it in it says TI-84 Plus found. I can do all of the steps the thing is that it says their is not calculator detected. Any help?
Oct 20, 2009. 4:57 AMDukeFanatic54321 says:
When you download TI Connect, click on the "TI Connect" appplication within the folder. It will search for devices. If it searches and finds nothing, click COMMUNICATION SETTINGS. Choose your calculator type in the drop-down box and that it is a USB direct cable.

Try connecting again.
