How to Put Games on your TI-84 plus or TI-84 plus silver edition

Step 5 Get Some Games

All that is left is to get some games for your calulator. Here is one of the best places to get games.
For instructional purposes I will show you how to put Tetris on your calculator.

Tetris can be found here.

Open the zip file and extract all files. Once that is done right click on the one that says tetris in lowercase letters and send to ti device. Make sure it is being sent to the archive memory. Press the program key and run prgmA. Tetris should be there, and is ready to play.

Yea, mine too. What I did was back everything up in TI-Connect and click restore when it gets cleared.

well, why don't put all the stuff in archive? Go to the memory menu, let you display all and then press enter to archive it.
Ion can't handle archived games, but a other program that can't be deleted via ram-clears called DoorsCS can, it has also a lot more features than Ion. It can be found here: http://www.cemetech.net/scripts/countdown.php?/83plus/asm/shells/dcs7.zip&location=wiki

Yes, but if if you put it in archive, when you have to clear your ENTIRE memory for quizzes, tests, midterms or finals, you will still lose it, unless your school is pretty slack and doesn't make you clear you calculator.

Then get zStart (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/429/42907.html), make it run on ram clears, get Omnicalc (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/226/22626.html) and activate the memory protection, now go to zStart and insert all Omnicalc hooks, try to put zStart again before you hand in the calculator. You'll notice that people can't visit any-more the reset menu. :)

Or use Mirage, you can set it up so when you clear the memory, it clears the memory without removing Mirage and all the games, and still displays the message all the teachers look for. You still have to be able to visit the reset menu, otherwise the teachers will just take the calculator away then you better be able to do math in your head, and fast.

It also works perfectly if you go to memory > Group > new group > add+ > press "right arrow" > press "enter". It comes with the calculator, and stays there even if the calculator is reset. To get it all put back just go back to memory > group > ungroup > select your group > press "3".

But if all your memory is deleted the groups are as well. I found a little program to overgo really EVERYTHING:

Click the 2nd button then hold the up button if it is hard to see the numbers or hit click the 2nd button and hold the down button if the screen is dark

i downloaded tetris, zelda, and deadeyes. but when i open the prgm screen, the program "A" isnt there anymore. what do i do?: plz respond asap (and btw, i had tetris working b4)

to fix it you need to reinstall ion on your calculator... if you dont want this to ever happen again download doors cs or mirage os. (they are applications so they arent deleted when the ram is cleared)

something probably a variable is archieved un archive it and it shoud fix.

1.A (which is archived)
2.Ion (which is archived)
3.Ionz (which is archived)
4.zminfo (which is archived)
5.ztetris which is not archived
6.and the last one i think its a theta symbol with Ion(which is archived)

 Open Ion.. Tetris and IndostructoTank should be there.  Don't run prgmTETRIS or prgmTANK

TRY NOT TO GET GAMES.

Get a device that was MADE for playing games, not a $100+ calculator that's delicate as heck. These games will either seriously screw up your TI 84 or confuse you completely.

heed my warning! do not get any games! they will F*** up your very expensive calculator! I have already gone through two. A ti-84 silver eddition and a ti-84 plus!

games can cause problems, but they arent perminent, you probably just dont know what to do if a problem arrises and just call the calculator broken...

hello i've had tetris but the graphics are moving. do i need to load another program ??

i got everything downloaded and i downloaded mario but when i press prgm it says: 1: *ION 2: * IONZ 3:*MARIO 4:* ZMINFO

and i click exec. for 3 and all it does is go to the "home" page and says prgmMARIO. HELP!!!

ur problem is that ur doin the wrong thing... u need to go to 2nd + (which is mem) 2 then 1 and u shud see mario ion ionz and zminfo (not in this order) and wot u need to do is move the cursor nxt to them and click it to unarchive (the asterix nxt to it shud disappear if u did it rite). then u go to quit and go to prgm and click ion. it shud tell u that it is installed. then u need to click the prgm agen and click A then u shud have a list of the games u got and all u need to do then is to select one to play! a few more things i think i shud also mention... 1 when u go into the games, u might not be able to play still cos u need to unarchive it... do wot i sed above (the 2nd + thing, remembering that the asterix means archived and no asterix means unarchived). so archive the games b4 after play and unarchive b4 play, also archive the game installer (the ion ionz and zminfo files) u shud do this because the ion program is very irritating in the fact that it seems to like clearing the ram... resulting in all ur games and ion thing to be deleted, and also u cant juss keep it on archive because ion also has an annoying habbit of only being able to play games that are on ram memory... this leads to why i think mirage OS is better...

downloading mirage OS its better because it has more features, it doesn't need to be on ram so u dun need the installation files for ION taking up more archive space, and u can hide games from teachers (although i dun think any of the teachers at my school are smart enough to check for games) i would teach u how to use it but i cbfed to type it all...

umm p.s. i also realised that there are also heaps of comments saying that they get problems because it says "syntax error" this is because, as someone already sed, they have sent the wrong files to their calc and they shud juss send the ion thing labeled, ion.8xg and send that instead, this shud resolve it, thats because one is for ti 84 and the other is for ti 84 plus (i know its really for it 83 but it works for both 83 and 84). anyways it shud be working now (hopefully) so bye bye i also realise that pplz say that they dun have those files... i cant help u...
