How to REALLY zap yourself

I found this out by accident, but it still can really give you one helluva zap.

Step 1 The stuff

This instructable is really easy all you need is;

1.)A CD( any cd)
2.)A Tv (it can't be flat screen or LCD)

oh wow, dang. another way is to put a 9v clip on a 9v battery, and put the wires together. then pinch them with your fingers and youll get hurt! its fun! try it! haha

Or just connect the wires together and leave it for a couple of hours :D

the real way is to get those huge 6v batteries and lick them. thats a shock

I don't mean to be a nagging spoil sport or anything but since as i am doing a course in electrotechnical engineering at college i know THAT MAINS ELECTRICITY CAN KILL!!! DO NOT MESS ABOUT WITH IT!!! I have seen real footage of people being killed by electricity and it isn't pleasant.

all this is is the static electricity that naturally forms on the screen of a tube tv turn one off and rub your hand across it in a dark room and you should be able to actually see it

You should have seen what happened to my little brother when he stuck a bent paper clip in a wall outlet! It was hilarious and scary at the same time! The lights flickered and his hair stood on end. This is even cooler, though! 5 Stars!

I did the same thing when i was little. However, nothing really happened to me. Actually, nothing happened to me, theirs just a big black mark around that particular outlet. I'm pretty lucky i guess. Afterward, like a couple years later, i decided to try it again with one of my friends, and we couldn't get a zap.

WHAT THE HELL!!?!? I tried this once at camp, I put a battery in my mouth, nothing happened. I tried discharging a capacitor on my tounge, hurt like hell. Plugged a thing into wall socket while touch the metal prong: I said something like 'GGIGIGIII JAJAJAWWJWW!" I didnt know why and my finger felt like it was squished really hard then i realize i touched a metal prong in an outlet.

probably, so don't try it with one that has anything written on it.

Also if you put tinfoil over the screen, turn on the TV, and then touch it you get shocked.

i have a rubber ducky with lights inside it and 2 little metal things on the bottom and if you touch the 2 metal things it turns on i have it siting on my tv and when i turn of my tv the light turns on

I also found out that when I plug in my headphones, then touch the speaker in the headphones I get a zap, that's pretty bad...

have you ever had your ipod in the pocket of a very staticy coat, and then proceed to take off the coat with the earbuds still in your ears? it zaps your eardrums!!!

I think it only works with the old CRT TV so that may be your problem j626no if you're using a plasma or LCD display
