Like myself I'm sure many of you have purchased a pair of cheap thong sandals from a big box store when they were on sale for a couple bucks. However as the minutes passed from your initial purchase and the glee of owning a brand new pair of sandals wore off three serious flaws can be noticed. The first flaw is that these new thong sandals are incredibly uncomfortable to wear for more than 10 minutes, the second being that they look a lot like everyone else's cheap big box sandals, and thirdly they are very difficult to wear with socks! Do not worry though, your purchase can be saved through the marvels of duct tape. After following this instructable you will have transformed your uncomfortable, generic, and sock-blocking sandals into something more than footwear.

Below is a picture of all the materials that are needed for this transformation.
1) Duct Tape- Don't skimp on quality here a nice cloth duct tape will not only feel nice but add durability, I'm using plain canvas duct tape. Colored tape or gaffers tape would also work well.
2) A Good Knife- I'm using my Leatherman Skeletool but anything sharp will do.
3) Hot Glue Gun With Ammo
4) A Drink- Dehydration kills! I'm using Jones Cream Soda (alcoholic drinks tend to diminish the quality of the sandal)
It worked surprisingly well, and the ability of the hot glue to bond to the sandals is astonishing.
all that aside...
nice 'ible, very well documented
