Or just wait 2-3 days like most avocados : /

Put them in a bowl of flour, cover them completely. They will ripen in about 24 hrs. Been using this method for more than 30 yrs.

I'm going to do this :) Thanks!

Good idea. Hope the avocado ripen with nice yellowish flesh and without any black spots in the flesh.

Ima, thanks for this instructable, we'll be trying your method soon, as well as some of the other suggestions

Seems like a great idea! We have a tree at home, but sometimes we have to pick them green to prevent birds from eating them. It also helps if you just keep them in a dark area, but I will definitely try this.

ps. In a dark area they go black easily

Put it in a bag with a banana. A day or two and it's good to go.

Thanks for sharing, hope the avocado ripen with nice yellowish flesh and without any black spots in the flesh.

Growing up in California, I never had an issue with Avocados. If under ripe a day or so on the window sill was enough to make them softer/ripe. Now that I live in land locked Alberta and fruit and veggie come shipped in, everything seems picked green. The problem is that even when they "ripen" they never lose that early "wood" taste. Thanks for the tip, I will be trying this asap!

    That's right, mpulliam1.

You are welcome and happy trying.

I’ve been wondering if an oven at 200F for a short time will do the trick.. say maybe 7 minutes in a pre heated oven?

You can try that and tell us what will happen with the avocado flesh.

It can take two weeks ! Some are coming from Mexico or Australia by boat, it takes a while.

Based on my experience, in normal condition they will ripen in 6 days.

I am trying this for sure!
