Step 6 Getting a cross on the Last Layer

In this step you try to get a cross on the last layer. (yellow side) There are 4 cases of edges. All the cases use the same algorithm but the cube is oriented differently.

Example 1
Hold the cube so the white side is on the bottom and the yellow side top. It doesn't matter which side is the front. (refer to first image)

Example 2
Hold the cube so the white is on bottom and the yellow on top. Make sure the --- on the top is parallel to your body. (refer to second image)

Example 3
Hold the cube so the white is on bottom and the yellow on top. Make sure the half plus sign is in the close, right, corner(of the top). (refer to 3rd image)

Example 4
Congratulations you have finished this step. Go on to the next one. (refer to fourth image)

Move
Back: Clockwise
Top: Clockwise
Left: Down
Top: Counter Clockwise
Left: Up
Back: Counter Clockwise

Note: the back turn is turning it as if you are holding the back side as the front. That does not mean that you solve it with the back on the front though. I might upload a video of what I mean.

i find it easier in step six to turn the cube 90 degrees to the left and do this.

Left: Down
Top: Clockwise
Front: Clockwise
Top: Counter-Clockwise
Front: Counter-Clockwise
Left: Up

i only find it easier because you dont have to do a back move

highlight that last sentence (referring to the back turning)
I did not read it until i failed like 4 times doing this step!!!!
I almost ate my cube!! ;)

Yw. You posted your comment at the perfect time. If you had told me to highlight it earlier then I probably wouldn't have gotten around to it. I just started solving again after almost 8 months of not speed cubing. lol My cube was way to loose and I had no glue to fix the caps if I were to take them off. I may add a section about DYI cubes and what types of glues to use, because some glues don't work strong enough and others melt the plastic together.... wow I ramble...

Now my problem is that i dont understand two things. One, when you hoply the rubix cube with the yellow strip on top, or the half plis sign, do you hold it so you can see the top, left, and front? or do you hold it so the front is in front, the right is on the right, left and left, and back and back? After that... when you are telling us to turn the back clockwise, do you mean clockwise while looking at the back? or clockwise while looking at the front/right or front/left side? thats it for now, thanks again this is helpind a LOT!!!

erm... what does hoply mean? Do you mean hold?

The front,left,back... are all relative to the position you are holding it in. Heres a picture of what it should look like when you are doing the moves. But.... I think it is the second choice you presented in the post And its turning it in the direction it would be if you were facing that side. Come to think if it.... I should just go back and change my turning names.

I think that there is a mistake here. The first step should be Back: Clockwise and the last step should be Back: Counter Clockwise.

I wasn't saying from the front perspective. If i did it from when your looking at that side to turn it i would have written it right clockwise. But i you want me to change it our make it more clear in the instructions, i will. I'll do that right now
