Oh ok
No fishing line?

There is; it's right next to the hook + sinker kit

one question. have you field tested this survival kit?

I have during the winter months last year.

Yes

the pros and cons with a hollow handle knife are Pros. you can carry stuff in the handle. Cons. the knife is pretty weak where the handle meets the blade because of the hollow handle so that means the knife might break if your like chopping down branches, chopping wood and so on and so forth i suggest that you get a nice full tang knife and add that to your survival kit instead. hope this helped and good luck in the contest.

The knife is mostly used for skinning; the machete is used for chopping; digging; etc.

for skinning your probably going to want a shorter blade

That's why I packed a pocket knife & a multi-tool

Where do you get a machete?

You can get it at your local blade dealer; Wal-Mart; Lowes; Home Depot; etc.

If the store has to do with gardening or hunting then they should supply it.

You definitely will find one at @BassProShop.
