Materials: - A white t-shirt - Disposable plastic table cloth or garbage bags - Gloves - Large buckets or bowls - Fabric dye - Salt - Plastic squeeze bottles - Rubber bands ...
Before tie-dying, you will need to set up your work space.To keep mess to a minumum, cover work area with disposable plastic table cloth or garbage bags.
Fill plastic squeeze bottles with fabric dye and water (follow specific directions on box).
To prepare the shirts for dying, tie rubber bands around each t-shirt and dip each shirt in salt water.
With plastic gloves on for skin protection, squeeze desired plastic squeeze bottles with dye onto the t-shirt.
After you are satisfied with the amount of dye and pattern you created on your t-shirt, place the shirt in a plastic bag. Allow to sit overnight.
After being in a bag overnight, rinse tshirt and remove rubberbands. Rinse until the water is clear again. Note: use plastic gloves again to protect skin from dye.
To wash the shirt, place it in the washing machine by itself. Wash with a cold water setting. Let the shirt air dry! Note: for the next few times ...
