Penny stocks are the favourite of the Pump and Dump merchants.  Avoid "ENORMOUS RISE IMMINENT" type postings - You'll get burned!
Unless you're very close to the market, following volume can be disasterous as by the time you've seen it the price will have moved and you'll be left having bought at too high a price when the 'clever money' has left and the price has dropped.
Also the spreads (i.e. the market maker's cut) on penny shares.can be enormous.  Shop around for brokers and judge your trade size to pay minimum commission.
That said, there is a lot of money to be made.  The best profits are usually made by those investing in the Next Big Thing, before the market has realised that's what it is. There are forums with knowledgable posters you can get ideas from and keeping up with science, technology and media trends is always a good idea.
Of course - NEVER TRADE WITH MONEY YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE.

Most probably spam, but of a most subtle nature.
Andrea, do you have any connection with the website you mention?
(Always suspicious when a user's name is  the subject of their first Instructable.)
