Not to be hatin', but I think you only posted this to show off basic Star Wars knowledge. =/ That's like pointing at a model of the solar system and saying: "Why's all the planets going in a counter-clockwise direction around the Sun?"

Jar'Kai was a less common lightsaber style, and one had to be highly trained to avoid cutting oneself. The off-handed arm was generally used to attack, as it was too weak to block effectively.

It was also the step up technique from niman, the form that most republic era jedi were trained in niman became more or less extinct after genosis, and i assume jar'kai must have died down shortly afterwards

Hmm, as a general piece of constructive criticism, I don't think I like instructables that consist entirely of a video clip without supporting still photos or text; they might as well be on youtube or whatever...

isnt there a whole instructable already about writing instructables

I think you mean http://www.instructables.com/id/ESUB7ZNLFDEP28644N/ which is the original (?) "How to make a project" instructable. That's where I learned how to make the text popup boxes. Alas, older instructables tend to fall off the radar or something, or become obsolete due to upgrades. (this one still appears pretty OK, though.)
