How to be a skater

First, if your just doing this because you want to be cool, stop right now. If you don't, and you are new to the skateboarding world, read this. Hope this helps!

Step 1 The Clothes

Be yourself. Don't wear skate clothes all the time because you might be called a poser. Just wear a simple shirt with a logo, some jeans, and some skate shoes. You'll need rubber soled shoes. And not DC's.

if you always wear shirts with a logo and jeans you are a poser i skate alot and honestly i don't wear any skate brand stuff most my clothes are either vintage t's or band t's also bra is for dudes not chicks, and its not skater it's mainly used by surfers also i can't remember the last time i heard ANYONE say dudette. Lastly i love how you knock dc's in this but your avatar is dc logo but being a "skater" is like being "emo" or "scene" or even "punk" there all just labels and if you label yourself it then you just look like a poser and i know this comment is all over the place but i just got back from a party and its like 6am i havent slept since like friday night

dc is better than alot of skate companies dc has alot of good skaters like Rob Dyrdek and Danny Way

I've been skating for 15 years.  I don't go out of my way to wear any logo of any kind.  I prefer to be plain when I skate.  But, I think you should clarify why you said "not DC's".  Without the clarification as to WHY, you sound as trendy as posers do.  And I'm honestly interested.

The skaters around where I live are really rough on you if you wear pads so I waer them under my clothes. One tip: Wear long sleeves. 80% of injuries from skateboarding (road rash, scrapes, small cuts, etc.) can be lessened or even prevented by wearing proper clothing.
