How to build a Reusable Cigarette Filter

How to build a Reusable Cigarette Filter
There are many types of disposable filters on the market, but in this instructable I will show how to build one which is very cheap, reusable and you will let you to adjust how much you want to filter out from your cigarettes.

WARNING: I don't know if copper is really safe. I know it's used in plumbing pipes, but some people says it can contain arsenic which is poisonous. If you want something safer buy an electronic cigarette.

Step 1The materials

The materials
A copper pipe (you can buy at home depot)
A wax candle
Some tape used to cover the pipe and avoiding touching the pipe with your lips
Coffee Filter or Cotton Balls (I think cotton balls have more density so it will filter our more tar)

Its been proven that the basic bong system is one of the most effective ways to filter smoke, using water- set up a small bong from an old pepper pot, insert your smoke into the bowl, and toke it like a cigarette.

Actually it has been proven that they are one of the worst ways to filter out tars...as roughly an equal amount of "good stuff" is filtered out too. Source: http://rockscillc.com/Studies/SmokingDeviceStudy.htm

I'm fairly certain the best way to filter is to avoid the need. Vaporizer anyone?

Just a small point of fact: copper contains arsenic.

While its a bit of a moot point but copper is fairly dangerous to be breathing through.

(Soapbox Moment) The best thing is to not smoke in the first place. There is no good or better cigarette. Cold turkey. Don't wait till you finish what you have. Destroy it, symbolically. Stick it out. IT'S TOUGH!. Change your habits to make it harder to smoke. Don't smoke in your car. Don't smoke in your house. If you did smoke in the car or house, clean it. Get rid of the smells. Live longer. Die quicker with less prolonged pain.

well since ur comment was never really answered..ill answer it..the smoke is bad but that is not what its stopping. There are several heavier and denser chemicals in cigarettes that are larger then the gas particles and can effectivly be filtered off for example tar. the smaller the particles the less likely they will be cauight and filtered so therefore the nicotine and gases get through

I think that it is pretty funny that you are worried about putting a piece of copper in your mouth but don't mind the smoking. smoking is much more harmful than a piece of copper

suggest not using copper. try to get some brass. plain copper isn't supposed to be good for you with that type of heat.

try and avoid using the bong, as if you were caning marijuana- cause if you cream it up too much, the tobacco will taste awful
