Picture of Build a World's Smallest Electronic Shocker!
This amazing little shocker is very tiny and can be hidden almost anywhere and give someone a surprise shock! It can operated by almost any 1.5v batteries!

So, on this instructable, I will show you how to make shockers that is smaller than a penny!

However, the biggest disadvantage of this shocker is, it is very hard to build, but it may be easy for experienced soldering iron user (like me) to build the shocker...

Please note that I am only 15 years old and I am not very good at grammar so if you find some parts of the instructable confusing, please let me know and I will try fix it.
And excuse me for some of those blurry and hazy picture. I cannot make them better...

Step 1: Get the things!!

Hardly anything is needed for this project but the tools...
  • "Boots" or "Polaroid" type disposable flash camera (You can use a Kodak camera, but they are harder to work with).
  • Some wires (I got mine from broken electronic devices).
  • Solder.

And the tools...
  • Soldering iron with a micro-tip.
  • Desolder pump (it makes everything so much easier, but you could probably get away with out one).
  • Flat-head screwdriver.
  • Wire strippers.
  • Wire cutters.
  • Pliers.
  • Tweezers or micro pliers (or your hand, but you are more than likely to get a solder burn).

can I use the transformer from a bug zapper ?

Those ones are normally 6 pinned transformers, I'm not sure if you can use the same diagram (also, the transformer from the bug zapper is bigger than the camera one). Of course you could use a Bug zapper circuit instead, just change the leads going to the part that you would use to kill bugs to some pins or whatever...

Put it between one of the battery wires

Example: cut the 1,5V wire in half and solder the button

I made this, and I got about 400v output, but then all of a sudden it stopped working and made a bit of smoke. I looked and it turns out the transformer is arcing over between pins 1 and 2.

lol, next time, read the datasheet, it is an audio transformer, not an voltage booster transformer. :)

hey, can anyone help? I made this, but as soon as I power it up, the transistir gets incredibly hot. so much so that the plastic melted. what have I done worng? I wired it uo exactly how it says, so is this irregular operation. and as far as I can feel, the output is non existent.

can you connect this to wire loop game ?? where are the line 1 line 2 terminals? please tell mee :)
a new take on the wire game. instead of an audible buzz, you would have an acual buzz. what I would do is put two plates on the handle so when the hand holds it, it completes one break in the circuit. then when the loop touches the wire maze, it completes the second bit

you could, however a mobile phone charger usually will only multiply the voltage by 10-25 times while the transformer he is using does 300 times.

Hello! Could some help me figure it out how to make this shocker "less powerful" by discharging, lets say, 50V instead of the 400-450V? How do i do it? Should i simply increase the value of the resistor? Or should i use a different capacitor too? Thank you!

Hi Plasmania - I think there may be an error in your circuit diagram that may explain some of the complaints. Every component pinout I can find shows Transistor 'Base' to be the middle wire. (E-B-C, rather than E-C-B). If that is the case (and assuming the photos are correct) Transistor Base is connected to XFMR pin 1, and Collector is connected to XFMR pin 4 That also keeps the Base on the 1.5 V side of the circuit. I tried to upload a revised schematic, but that doesn't seem to be working...

Could make a good mouse zapper. If it's 250 volts @ 1.5 volts What would a 9 volt battery do? Do you know the approx current? Is the cap a discharging cap? The discharging cap could be reduced to prevent a burning ark? For use in Dogs (as in lets not mark our territory there anymore boys)?

I recently made 8 of these and put them in parallel to charge a capacitor bank. Now, when using one to charge a capacitor I require an RC Circuit. But, when I made the 8 in parallel no resistor was need to charge a capacitor. I was just hoping you could clear up how I could have built up the resistance to not require a resistor to charge.
