This amazing little shocker is very tiny and can be hidden almost anywhere and give someone a surprise shock! It can operated by almost any 1.5v batteries!

So, on this instructable, I will show you how to make shockers that is smaller than a penny!

However, the biggest disadvantage of this shocker is, it is very hard to build, but it may be easy for experienced soldering iron user (like me) to build the shocker...

Please note that I am only 15 years old and I am not very good at grammar so if you find some parts of the instructable confusing, please let me know and I will try fix it.
And excuse me for some of those blurry and hazy picture. I cannot make them better...

New and improved version!

Build a World's Smallest Electronic Shocker! version 2.5

Disclaimer: This shocker can be dangerous, it gives out 450 shocking volts, so I am NOT responsible if you or anybody are injured or killed by the shocker, the responsibility is yours...

Step 1: Get the things!!

Picture of Get the things!!
P1010071.JPG
Hardly anything is needed for this project but the tools...
  • "Boots" or "Polaroid" type disposable flash camera (You can use a Kodak camera, but they are harder to work with).
  • Some wires (I got mine from broken electronic devices).
  • Solder.

And the tools...
  • Soldering iron with a micro-tip.
  • Desolder pump (it makes everything so much easier, but you could probably get away with out one).
  • Flat-head screwdriver.
  • Wire strippers.
  • Wire cutters.
  • Pliers.
  • Tweezers or micro pliers (or your hand, but you are more than likely to get a solder burn).

Also, if you don't know how to solder, read this great instructable!

Relly nice! For those who bother with specs I use 220nF capacitor, b547 transistor and RL207 diode. Works fine! For now I use Arduino 5V pin and I obtained +- 200V. That's quite a deal!

This site is terrible for printing out instructions. The pictures are obscuring the text. Terrible coding!

What if I use a 300v 100uF Rubycon Photo-flash capacitor? Is there a certain resistor I should use or a certain transformer? Thanks!

zapper450 made it!1 month ago

Mine is slightly different because all of these little transformers are different. test the pins with a multimeter to know you've got the right ones. But it's cool and it works!

Could the output of this taser be attached to a coil of wire and be used as an EMP device?

Well, here's my circuit and I've problem that from where the battery is to be connected. ( I lost my track while dismantling the camera.)

Thank you.

So you are only fifteen years old? Amazing..... Keep learning and experimenting but never forget to be imaginative! And have fun!

what kind of transformer is that? please reply

do someone here knows how to make a capacitor charger without a bug zapper or a camera? pls can someone say detail?

Nice idea...

can I use the transformer from a bug zapper ?

Those ones are normally 6 pinned transformers, I'm not sure if you can use the same diagram (also, the transformer from the bug zapper is bigger than the camera one). Of course you could use a Bug zapper circuit instead, just change the leads going to the part that you would use to kill bugs to some pins or whatever...

How would I add a push button to this circuit? does this charge then shock you or continuously shock you?

LesPicard WillE18 months ago

Put it between one of the battery wires

Example: cut the 1,5V wire in half and solder the button

i improved,i dont know many volts because i test in my tester and my tester explode

I made this, and I got about 400v output, but then all of a sudden it stopped working and made a bit of smoke. I looked and it turns out the transformer is arcing over between pins 1 and 2.

Amazing shocker. I shocked myself eight times, made me go buzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Thanks a lot. Let's ZAP someone.

can I use a 6 pin transformer instead?

note to author and people who dont want to slaughter a camera:

I think i found a possible subsitute transformer here:

lol, next time, read the datasheet, it is an audio transformer, not an voltage booster transformer. :)

Im glad you at least tried finding alternatives
as I recall, you have an 'ible on free samples. :)
hey, can anyone help? I made this, but as soon as I power it up, the transistir gets incredibly hot. so much so that the plastic melted. what have I done worng? I wired it uo exactly how it says, so is this irregular operation. and as far as I can feel, the output is non existent.
farhalagoyo2 years ago
can you connect this to wire loop game ?? where are the line 1 line 2 terminals? please tell mee :)
a new take on the wire game. instead of an audible buzz, you would have an acual buzz. what I would do is put two plates on the handle so when the hand holds it, it completes one break in the circuit. then when the loop touches the wire maze, it completes the second bit

what part number is the transistor from the camera? is it NPN or PNP?

mine only gives 37 v

could anyone provide a link or tell me what kind of transformer i should buy? i had a look on ebay but all i found was this :http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/13V-Output-220V-Input-4W-5-Pins-Electronic-Component-EI-Power-Transformer-/330820953105?pt=AU_B_I_Electrical_Test_Equipment&hash=item4d06772411&_uhb=1#ht_2183wt_1141
