I made a shocker with an AA battery, it is very small - it can be well hidden in my hand.

I also built a shocker into a dark blue battery pack, and it packs a pretty powerful punch. I then gave it to one of my friends for him to use for halloween - but then, I later found out he trashed it for no reason... :-(

I modified a orange flash light with a hidden shocker inside! But it is not very effective...

what wold hapin if i hooked it up to a 9v battery

The circuit is designed to only handle 1.5 volts ans a 9 volt battery would simply fry the whole thing

darn. thanks

I don't know the difference between these two circuits but they use all the same parts. http://www.instructables.com/id/Camera-Taser-Shocker/ and he uses a nine volt battery. Might decrease the life of the circuit but it works. maybe just ramp it up a bit by adding 1.5V-7V instead. For longevity throw a nine volt on there with a voltage regulator to throw what ever voltage at the transformer you are after.

Could you put a Potentiometer anywhere on this? so if your just playing with someone you can turn it to minimum or if you want info from someone you can turn it to maximum?

Ya thats what i did. You have use 10 ohm pot and connect that pot to the battery instead of the output because its more efficient. Or you will have to buy a 5Mohm pot other than a 10 ohm pot. you see?

I manageed to get one of these made today, it's a good thing I had some camera parts lying around. Thanks for a clear instructable Plasmana.

where did u connect those 2 pins and the battery? and how would a 6 pin transformer work? thanks
May 23, 2009. 9:21 PMjimbo333 says:
a six pin transformer will work. if you look closely each pin has a small wire soldered to it, one of the middle pins will not have this, that pin can be removed or left, just pretend its not there
May 24, 2009. 6:54 AMmattmagic100 says:
but the thing is that i got my transformer from a battery charger. which pin do you think is the useless one? *there were no wires connected to this transformer*
May 25, 2009. 11:03 PMpyroten says:
no, jimbo means the wire that is from the transformer. There will be a really thin wire going to each of the pins except one
May 26, 2009. 4:08 AMmattmagic100 says:
but there was none. it was just soldered onto the pcb.
May 27, 2009. 7:19 AMEddiepers says:
no he means coming from the inside of the transformer

o okay i see. thank u very much.

Hey, would it be O.K. if i used the circuit to this device in my first instructable?? thanks
Apr 15, 2009. 6:43 AMtoughcookie says:
I Have tried 3 times to make the shocker, but i only had one very old camera with the 4 pins in the transformer, and i tried to make it using that one, which ended unsuccessfully. Is it possible to use a transformer with the 5 pins and simply cut one off? Have you got any other ideas??

Nice Job man, Im building my own right now

I have always made stun guns and tasers using the disposable camera, but it was really big and space was a problem when i was installing it in a project box, this is so much better

you can also cannibalize a bbq lighter piezo unit & get something that will give a single jolt at a time. Just hack one of those gas match dealies from the dollar store & ur in biznez

on the AA one... why are there 2 wires in the front and oone heading to the back and what i am guessing is one on the end in the front... what i guess i am asking which 2 wires are they gonna be touching the High V one and the 0 V one OR the High V and the + 1.5 V one?
