When we talk about cars there is a lot of things to talk about. Every living thing breaths, animals, trees and cars one of them. But when something wants to breath its got to have filter to breath clean air and cars are no exception. Why does the cars needs air filter, because there is alot of things in the air can damage the engine and the filters job is to keep the air clean .
.I well show you how to change your Subaru's air filter
You have to locate your engine's air filter case. If you don't know what it is, look for some thing looks like a box, when you find it try to take a look around it, to know what you are going to disconnect. I well show you in the next steps.
Now you have to locate the Mass air flow (MAF) sensor. You can find it near the air filter box. Now you have to disconnect it, but you have to be careful with it because its made from plastic and it can be easley damaged.
When the Engineers design engines some time they have to put the air box in places that air cant reach, so they design a plastic that makes air go to the air box. Take a look around the air box and you'll find it. Now take off that plastic thing so you can reach your cars air box withe out problems.
There is all ways an O ring between the air box and the air hose. Its job is keeping air out. You will find right after the Mass air flow sensor (MAF). Now you have to untghte it so you can dissconnect the air hose from the air box.
After disconneting every thing go back to the air box. You will find two metal clips you have to take it off so you can take the back half of the air box so you can reach the air filter.
And for the last sep take the new air filter and put it in the air box. but the second half of the air box back, connect the mass air flow sensor (MAF), but back the O ring and tight it.
Before you start your car double check for every thing so you dont miss any thing. If your not sure if you but every thing back or not go back to the steps and do it backwords. If you did every step right then your car is ready when you are ready.
