Hi Guys

I am Pushkar Jog from Goa, India and I am gonna show you guys how to control your little credit-card sized powerful computer, Raspberry Pi without using extra monitor, keyboard and mouse but just with Ethernet

IF U HAVE ANY DOUGHTS REGARDING THIS INSTRUCTABLES THEN MAIL ME ON 'pushkarjog2001@gmail.com"

Step 1: Requirements

For this u wil require some temporary and some permanent accessories

Temporary accessories are

1) USB Keyboard and Mouse

2) HDMI Cable

Permanent accessories are

1) Raspberry Pi 2 model B

2) 5V 2A USB Adapter

3) USB cable (USB to micro-USB)

4) RJ45 (LAN/Ethernet) Cable

5) At least 4gb memory card with NOOBS or Raspbian installed (If you don't know how to do this, then have a look at https://www.raspberrypi.org/help/quick-start-guide... )

6) Windows PC (Windows 7/8/10)

Step 2: Installing XRDP on Raspberry Pi

For using GUI on RPi 2 we need to install an package called XRDP server

  • For installing that type the following in lx terminal :

sudo apt-get install xrdp

  • Wait for sometime and you will get it installed

Step 3: Finding Ur RPi`s IP Address

Join the RJ45 i.e.LAN or Ethernet cable to Network port of ur Pi and the other end of your cable to ur router/modem

Note : Ur PC should also be connected to the same router and the router should be configured with ur pc

To communicate with the RPi from Windows u wil need to know about ur RPi`s IP Address

  • To do this u need to enter the following command in ur Pi`s lxterminal :

ifconfig

  • U will get something like shown in pic
  • Select inet address (only numbers and dots) from the eth0 para (i dont know whether its a para or not..!!) and copy it (note it down)

Step 4: Final Configuration

Now come to your pc and search for Remote Desktop Connection in Start menu

open it

A menu will appear as shown in the pic above

  • Click option/show options
  • A bigger menu will appear as shown in the second pic
  • Enter ur Pi`s IP Address (that we earlier found out and noted) as the name of your computer
  • Enter ur user name (normally pi) as username
  • And deselect the Always Ask For Credentials check box
  • A window will appear with a menu in centre
  • Select module as Sesman-xvmc
  • Enter ur username
  • Enter ur RPi login password (Normally raspberry if not changed)
  • And click login
  • And there u go u r having full access to all the functions of your sweet little Pi

Step 5: After Setting Up (LOGIN NEXT TIME)

  • If u had deselected the Always ask for credentials check box as I told in previous step then u dont need to enter anything just enter ip and click connect
  • If not then u will have to perform the previous step once again and remember to deselect the checkbox
