Introduction: How to Create a 3D Model of a Witches Hat Using Autodesk Inventor( and How to Create a Basic Model)
This tutorial will show you to make a basic 3D model Using AutoDesk Inventor. We will using the line tool, the revolve command, and finish sketch command. This was created by a Drafting and design student to help others use Inventor
Step 1: Getting Started
Open AutoDesk Inventor. Wait for it to load up. It may take a few seconds. Click new then select the format Standard.ipt. The circle shows the right one
Step 2: Creating the Base
Start with the base of the witch hat with the circular rim. Make a 1 inch line on or parallel to the x axis.On the right end of that line make a line .25 inches up.Then, make a line going a 1/4 inch to the right that connects to the quarter inch line.
Step 3: Making the Rim of the Hat
On the left end of the 1 inch make a vertical 1/8 of an inch line.
Step 4: Finishing the Rim
Make a line connecting to the 1/8 of an inch line going to the right that is 1/4 of an inch long.
Step 5: Adding Height
Time to add height for the top of the hat. On the rightmost end of the line make a 3 inch vertical line
Step 6: Time to Make the Diagonal
To make the diagonal make a line that connects to the top of the 3 inch line and to the end of the 1/4 inch line on left of the sketch. The basic shape of the witches hat is starting to appear
Step 7: Finish the Sketch
Now its time to finish the sketch. Click the Finish Sketch command in the top right corner.
Step 8: Revolving the Sketch

Step 9: Your Done!
You have just made a basic sketch and a basic 3D model. I hope you have a better understanding on how to use AutoDesk Inventor. Thanks for viewing and Happy Halloween (if applicable!) !
