How to crochet without the hook

How to crochet without the hook
It's a Sunday afternoon and you're bored. You see some yarn and decide to crochet. Then you remember that you don't have a hook. Well, that puts crocheting out of the picture. Right? Nope.

If you know how to crochet this should be pretty easy for you. It's basically having to do what a hook does without one. Now make a slip knot near one end. Now take the longer end and push a loop through the slip knot(photo). Pull the loop through. Pull tight. Keep looping the long end through the last loop about ten times.

Hmm, Wont you only end up making a Long Chain? Whats the fun in that, lol, You should show people how to make a crochet hook instead, lol. Well, I have to admit, when i make my dog a temp leash i use this on rope, but its not like you can get a giant crochet hook for it,lol

Fingerstitch is what this is. Always a nice touch on a halyard as well. I wouldn't fancy making a baby bonnet this way though. LOL.
