Step 2During
Try to drink only one alcoholic beverage per hour. Sticking with the same drink for the whole night tends to lead to less complications later.
Choose wisely
Red wine and other dark liquors usually result in a higher chance for a hangover. The less expensive the alcohol the more toxin and thus the greater chance for a hangover.
Alternate drinks
Drinking water or juice in between alcohol will keep you hydrated (alcohol is a diuretic and removes more fluid from you than it contributes). The liver needs water to remove toxins from the body (yes, alcohol is a toxin) and the sooner the liver can get to work the better.

C1 and C2: Agreed!
By some definitions it is not a toxin, and by those definitions neither is HCN. They are both certainly poisonous.
I don't think that you can compare hydrogen cyanide with alcohol.
**Alcohol itself, as long as it is consumed in moderation like everything else, will not have any negative consequences on the body. In fact, studies have shown that it can help certain people by thinning blood and improving circulation in addition to other benefits.
**Hydrogen Cyanide, however, has negative consequences at nearly an dosage. It isn't used as any form of medicine, treatment, or therapy for good health. Only to kill people. It's only use is to kill people.
What causes a hangover are toxins like acetaldehyde and congeners in addition to the dehydration Zieak mentions. These are toxic by any standards because the body can't break them down into helpful, usable compounds. They are only harmful.
By what definitions is HCN not a toxin???
Dorland's Medical Dictionary: toxin (tok'sin) a poison, especially a protein or conjugated protein produced by certain animals, higher plants, and pathogenic bacteria.
By either definition neither ethanol nor HCN is a toxin. Both are poisons, and are toxic.
I was pointing out that you were correct, technically, in saying that ethanol is not a toxin. I was also saying that it was ridiculous to say so, because Zieak had written a fine instructable and here comes a guy wants to pick at a definition, and starts off wrong by saying ethanol is a sugar. It has a hydroxyl group, cannot be a sugar. It is an alcohol.
Very good instructable.
