you rifle is not legal. Remember Kids only you can stop people from painting orange tips.

If you look real close, you can see that he taped the orange tip and so didn't paint it. He also added a label to it in the diagram where he taped the stripes.

Spray paint it then Use Matt spray Varnish (think its varnish) it wont come off with scratches

I just painted my gun(which I really liked a lot) but the paint is already wearing off. I am really dissapointed. Is there any coat to put on top. It is ultra flat paint so a gloss coat wouldnt make sense.

Well after you apply the paint and have the desired effect. add a layer of spray polyurethane, which creates a invisible layer protective finish. that should last you for a year or so.

well by sanding the gun b4 the paint and then letting it dry in a warm and dry area it should stay on longer

I did sand it, and i let it dry outside, in sacramento. I did find the answer to my question. It is a flat top coat. But even that is wearing. Im about to buy some army tape and wrap the crap out of the spots that wear.

well that certainly will work but if you do still want a good paint job then i'd reccomend springing for some "krylon fusion" paints . . .they're chemically engineered to bind with plastics and they have official (albeit u.s. )cammo colors available. No primer is needed . . .though if your surface is particularly shiny then a sanding with high grit(ie fine) sandpaper would be a good idea. I've used the stuff and it's sheer brilliance! I will let you in on a secret though . . .it's expensive( :( ) depending on where you get it. Make sure you shop around first. I've found that walmart has it for the least around where I live.

Kaelessin in reply to Pumpkin$Sep 16, 2008. 3:23 PM
nothing really unless you wanted to paint your rifle with the official cammo pattern and colors . . .

I frequent a forum (i must confess as a lurker only though) and they have a wealth of great info . . . here's a thread on how to freehand a great cammo pattern . . .

I'd rather not paint my air soft gun, but I did paint some Nerf guns laying around, here they are...(oh and by the way on your last picture don't go around in public with that gun, the one without the orange tip, or you could get shot by police, which I doubt would be fun.)
