Step 4Create your .eps files

Create your .eps files
Having a design file we can make from is an important criteria for this competition. We're going to be making the top 25 designs for free!

If you need any help creating your .eps files, follow our Valentines Day Jewelry Instructable which gives some great tips on using Inkscape. Don't forget to download a copy of the Ponoko making guide which is full of useful info on creating .eps files and the materials we have on offer.

It is important that the cutting and engraving colors are set correctly in your .eps files, you can find this information in the making guide but here is a quick recap:

Cutting lines: blue (RGB 0, 0, 255)

Raster engraving:
Light: 10% black (RGB 230, 230, 230)
Medium: 50% black (RGB 128, 128, 128)
Heavy: 100% black (RGB 0, 0, 0)

Vector engraving:
Light: Magenta (RGB 255, 0, 255)
Medium: Green (RGB 0, 255, 0)
Heavy: Red (RGB 255, 0, 0)
