How to find the WiFi password from a Mac

This is very useful in stores that sell apple computers, and have passwords on their Wifi
It's a very simple process that takes less than 20 seconds! I personally use it on my schools WiFi as they change the password every week =P


Note: Does not work with anything newer than 10.6.4, looks like someone found the bug ;)
Even if it doesn't actually TELL you the password in 10.6.4, you can still use it to determine the LENGTH of the password, which might still be useful :D

Step 1 Check if the WiFi is password protected

Just click on the WiFi icon in the top right of the menu bar!

If you purchased all the songs etc. from apple, you can just download them again. If they were torrents, or CDs, they're gone.

Wait this only shows the password of wifi you were already connected to right? What if they didn't have a password before and now they do. Would I be able to find it.

No, the point of this is to find the password of a computer you have access to, so you can enter it on your own computer. It would be cool if what you said were possible...
