How to get High Resolution Images Out Of Instructables

Step 1: Find Image - Check License

Remember, if you're a member of the community, respect the wishes of your fellow members. Look at the license to make sure you can use their image.

Step 3: Download Image or Select Size

From this point, you have a few options.

1. You can select the size of image you want to download or view -- the default is the highest available
2. You can download the image to disk..
3. You can view the image by itself.

To select an image size, simply click on size you want from the list on the left tool bar.

To download the image, right click the link just below the image and select "save link as" (or whatever the appropriate action for your browser).

To view the image by itself -- you can click the link and browse to the image. For those on a slower connection, be advised that some of these images are big -- really big.

Step 4: Use

Picture of Use
Be sure to use the image within the confines of the license. In this case, the license is "public domain"

"...background image for the next few days..." How on earth would you find your icons?

I don't use desktop icons ;)
Maybe you use invisible ones, or ones that can only be seen by sciency Anglians.
Don't use desktop icons! That's for aesthetics and not utility. Correct? That's a bit anal retentive, and that's coming from an anal retentive prefectionist graphic designer! Nice work.

I rarely see my desktop, so its not aesthetics ;) I'll dump icons onto the desktop, if given the chance... I still have desktop icons - but they must be viewed through a window rather than on the desktop itself. Most commonly used applications go on the quick launch, or in the frequently used program list on the start menu... So, it's more utility - it all but forces me to organize files as they are created ;)
