How to get prepared for a weekend of fly fishing

How to get prepared for a weekend of fly fishing
There are a few key things you can do to prepare for a weekend of fly fishing. Doing these will ensure that when you arrive at the river or lake, you're ready to fish, maximising your time on the water.

I normally start preparing, for a weekend of fly fishing, mid-week; ticking of a task or two each night. Preparing for fly fishing actually heightens my anticipation for what lies ahead on the weekend, it's a ritual that I enjoy. Once I start preparing, my brain registers that at some stage soon I'm going to be on the river and gets excited.

Provided that you have the right fly rod (http://startflyfishingnow.com/choosingarod.htm) and fly line (http://startflyfishingnow.com/typesofflylines.htm), the following tips should improve your fishing and maximise the time you spend fishing while on the river, rather than getting organised on the river.

Step 1Treating your strike indicators

Treating your strike indicators
If you use strike indicators, then you'll know how important it is that they float. Getting your indicators ready is an important task that can easily be overlooked.

Combing out the indicator fibers (with a fine hair comb) will separate them and get rid of any loose fibers. Once separated, I spray the indicators with a floatant, this will help to keep the water out of the fibres and keep the indicator sitting high in the water.

This is just a bare-bones, virtually worthless Instructable designed to advertise a commercial site for selling a book and equipment. Score: 0. I hope this doesn't become a trend.

It's not very useful, you are (consciously or otherwise) using this as a lead-in to your site where you're asking money in return for your personal experience. If you did one small thing completely that stood on it's own (a freebie), people might think it worth buying your stuff for more of the same. It's the general vague approach with link-backs that make this look like an infomercial. L

Besides, he didn't even cover the most important preparation step: convincing your SO to let you go...
