How to hook up a Xbox 360 to a PC monitor

Step 3 Hook Up The Speakers

Now turn on your Xbox and your monitor. You will notice something immediately, WHERE IS THE SOUND! Luckily, the hook up is dead simple.

1. Unplug your speakers from your computer. ( If you do not know what the speaker cable looks like, it is green)

2. Take out your stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm

3. Plug the RED & WHITE plugs on the VGA cable into the stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm

4. Plug the speaker plug ( green plug ) into the stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm

my speakers require you to plug the 3.5 mm wire INTO the device you want to play the sound from...wat do i do??

hi there if there are any people who know about HP Touchsmarts please help

So far i have:

- connected my xbox 360 to my PC via S-Video Cable and used the composite cable to connect the red and white wires to the "Audio-In" jack on the pc.

i still do not know how to turn my pc into display mode, i use the remote to change AV but it does not respond and the screen stays the same

My question is exactly like "tomcichon", Where do i get the adapter to connect my speakers and the "stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm" together. The "gold rod" looking adapter in between the green plug and "stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm" in the 3rd and 4th picture of the slide.

Check your local radioshack or Home Depot, that is where I bought mine.

Also, a great site to go to is Cables To Go. I bought my HDMI Cables there and they have really fast shipping and are pretty cheap.

Ok so I have the video figured out but for audio Im really confused. So I plug the Red and White cords into the adapter then what do I pug the adapter into and where do I plug the green cord from the speakers? Thanks

fyi, some of the newer monitors have HDMI imports already installed on them. great thing because it's only one cable for sound and picture. good Instructable. I used it on my old monitor and worked just as good as my HDMI.

I have a 17" TFT LCD Monitor, and the speakers are inside of the monitor. Will this still work?

I am pretty sure it will. Same hook up principal. Just take the wire from your speakers to your computer and follow this step. Please PM me if you have any questions or run into problems. I am always here to help you out.

what do you do if you dont have the 3.55mm adapter?if i touch the end of my speaker wire and the black thing that the red and white cables go in i can hear music out of one of my speakers but not the other.
