I used to make microphone recordings on a very good cassette recorder around 30 years ago. Now it is time to store the music in another format. Today it is difficult to find a high class converter. I found this solution.

What is the solution?

It appears the device he shows is intended to convert cassettes directly to the MP3 format, but his complaint was that the tape mechanism in the device is of poor quality. So, it looks like he disabled the built-in tape mechanism, then created a connection to the converter board that he could plug into the line-out jacks of an external, higher-quality tape deck. It looks like his mod could be used with most record players and other audio sources as well.
