Introduction: How to Install Linux on a Chromebook

About: http://www.youtube.com/c/AndrewWorkshop

In this video I show how I was able to install Ubuntu Linux on a Samsung Chromebook. This will allow you to run Ubuntu Linux on your Chromebook and keep a version of ChromeOS.

Step 1: Video and Command Lines

These are the command lines I used in the video:
sudo sh -e ~/Downloads/crouton -r list (lists the linux builds)

sudo sh -e ~/Downloads/crouton -t help (lists the linux desktop interfaces)

sudo sh -e ~/Downloads/crouton -r trusty -t lxde (installs the build and desktop interfaces)

sudo startlxde URL for Crouton: http://goo.gl/fd3zc

Here are some instructions I used:

Yeah I'm running Debian Wheezy on my Chromebook and I'm loving it. For an interface, I'm using KDE. This only requires slightly different instructions:

    sudo sh ~/Downloads/crouton -r debian -t kde -n debian

Oh and I did forget to add. The start up command changes to:

    sudo startkde

Looks like a useful skill to have....can these be hackintoshed?

I'm not sure, Macs are linux "based" but I'm no expert in that, be really cool if they could tho!
