Step 7Manage your cravings!

We all crave, want, desire, and how we cope with those cravings determines our success. Allow yourself a bite, a taste, but don't let yourself go. Just remember the taste, smell and feel. Eat that little bit, don't spit it out or throw it up, this can lead to SERIOUS eating disorders. Don't overindulge. When you feel like you HAVE to have something, STOP and ask yourself: "Is this going to be worth ALL that I must sacrifice to have it? Will I be satisfied? Can I stop before my calorie limit for today?" This inner dialog will help you build that self control.
Some people have hunger issues. If you feel hungry because of fear, happiness, anger, frustration, or any emotion, then you will need special help from your doctor. That is a psychological condition that can be treated. Eat for the important reason, your body needs food and that is why you are hungry.
Avoid "trigger foods". Any food that makes you crazy for more. The kind of food that you see and that's it, it's eaten, and you MUST have more. That is a "trigger food". If you see any "trigger foods", walk the other way. Think: "This food makes me loose control and I WILL NOT LET FOOD MAKE MY DECISIONS FOR ME!". Even "healthy" foods can be trigger foods.
