(Watch Video)

This is a cool spinning top that will allow you to use some of those old CDs or DVDs you have collecting dust.

Just use a strong glue to connect everything or it can break apart.

Have fun playing.

how fast have you made it spin, have you managed to measure the speeds and varied the mechanisms you use to spin it, I have an idea for a lab equipment application.

Cool project.

Somewhere on the internet is a 'how to' showing how to make a top similar to this but with the added feature of a painted top surface. The ides is that as the top spins the colors combine visually to a form other colors, such as red & blue combine to make purple, etc. This would be a great a teaching aid for children & adults to learn what happens when colors are mix.

Nice thinking on the colors

C00L

I once made something like this, but I was very little and did not know about instructables yet. ;)

Hey, that's a great looking top! Using a marble is a very clever idea.

Your description looks to be all gibberish though, you might want to clean that up. :)

Thank you
I am not sure what happened in the description, but it should be fixed now. Thank you for telling me, I did not know.
