So you want to make flowers out of buttons, eh?
This is a simple step-by-step guide to making your own cute little flowers out of nothing but buttons and glue!

Step 1: Preparing Your Materials.

You will need:
Buttons ( at least four small ones, and one larger one)
A glue gun
Piece of plastic (you can salvage this from any plastic container. I used an empty margarine container)
Scissors

That's it, you're ready to begin!

Step 2: Arrange Your Smaller Buttons.

For this step, you should arrange your smaller buttons. These will become the main petals of your flower. For positioning, see the image below.

Step 3: Cut Your Plastic

Remember to plug in your glue gun before you start cutting your plastic, you'll need it in the next step!

Now it's time to cut your plastic into a small circle. Your circle should be slightly smaller than the entirety of petal buttons you just arranged. Your plastic circle doesn't have to be absolutely perfect, it just has to be smaller than your button petals.

Step 4: Attaching Your Petals

Now that your glue gun is nice and hot, it's time to glue your petal buttons to the plastic circle.
If you haven't already, place your circle on your worktable, and then place the buttons on top of your plastic circle to make sure they all fit on there properly.

Now take your first button petal and place a small tab of glue on a corner of it. Make sure you put the glue on the flattest side of your button for maximum stickability(Yes, I just made that word up. :P) Stick the button to a corner of your plastic circle. Repeat this step until all your button petals are stuck to your plastic.

Step 5: Attaching Your Larger Button

Now that all your petals are attached, it's time to attach your larger button! This tutorial's almost over, and it's pretty simple, don't you think?

Anyway, pick out your centerpiece for your little flower. I like to use a contrasting colour for the middle button, but you can choose whichever you want(obviously xD). All that's left to do is put some glue on the flat side of your large button, and plunk it into place at the heart of your little flower. (:

Step 6: Finishing Touches

Now, you can leave your kitschy flower as is to use as a sort of applique, or you can attach a magnet to the back to create a fridge magnet, a pin to make a broach, or anything else you can think of.
