The recipe is quite simple. All you need are

Some iodine
Some refined olive oil

Step 2: Mixing

Mix the olive oil with a few drops of iodine(there are no spesific measurements needed so eyeballing it should work). Then when you are about to use it mix it back up just in case. And that is have to make your own tanning oil! This oil should give you a nice tan and keep your skin moist.

This olive oil / iodine treatment works very well. My sun-loving aunt has used this her whole adult life with no ill-effects and always had that much sought after "golden tan." Olive oil is wonderfully enriching for the skin and Iodine has a mild sunscreen effect, so this can be used for short tanning sessions. Besides, do you know how many chemicals are in commercial sunscreens? I like to be able to actually pronounce the ingredients that I put on my skin (and yes, you will smell like a salad)!

You will get a real tan if you use it and then sunbath, it isn't like a fake spray-on tan.

Add some basil and garlic salt and you will drive the local cannibals crazy with the smell of cooked human flesh :)
