How to make Princess Zelda's crown (Twilight Princess)

Step 1: Tools and materials:

Tools and materials:

-"metallic gold" Fimo clay (x3)
-black, brown and light orange chalk pastels
-make-up brushes
-a knife
-clear nail polish*
-a rolling pin
-aluminium foil
-toothpicks
-hot glue gun
-a big blue strass
-copper wire
-a circular pastry cutter
*(or "Fimo gloss varnish" but you may need a specific brush and the result is just plain messy)
Optional:

-plastic wrap & duct tape (to protect your desk)
-hair spray

I printed GnatGoSplat's texture from http://nene.modthesims.info/download.php?t=328344 to respect the proportions of the crown...

I was wondering, would it be possible to do it in another colour and then paint it? My biggest concern is that the gold of the fimo wont match the gold paint I'm going to use on the armour D: Also is it lightweight enough that I could use fimo to make the other dangly jewellery decoration pieces?

Of course you can spray paint it, but you won't get the same shading effect. =)

I'm not sure of your age Mad Hatter, but if you like art and kids, you might think about camp counseling as an art instructor. Most camps want people 21 years and older. However, sometimes 18+ you can get a job. If you like the idea send me a message, I know the camping world very well. :)

Thanks! (I never took any sculpting lesson, so I don't think I could give you any useful tips~)
Well, I started 3 years ago with miniatures like this : http://cdhm.org/tutorials/making-a-miniature-cake.html, then I tried life size tutorials (surprisingly easier than miniatures!) : http://www.kawaii-mania.com/index.php?tuto-macaron-fimo.
So now I'm trying to start projects on my own but most of the time I don't really know where to start or what I'm doing ^^"

(Just like any other kind of "art" all you need is practice and enough confidence...if this is your first time using polymer clay, you may need to do first a prototype of your project with some kind of air-drying clay)

I hope this helped, don't hesitate to tell me if you see anything weird in my tutorials (Sorry for my poor english!)

Thanks a lot, but that's just me : a med student at 2am with too much eyeliner xD (I only used liquid Fimo to glue the leaves =,( so the crown stays flat if not worn...)
haha for some reason I always pictured Arya green-eyed with some kind of dark bob hairstyle~

Haha, thanks. Once you've purchased the tools & materials it should take about 2-3 hours to make the crown (or less, with your little sister helping) =)
