Introduction: How to Make Faux Porcelain From Bread Dough

Knead white bread and Aleene's Original Tacky Glue together with a drop of paint. that's all you need to create this simple clay. The delicate roses in the jewelry set will inspire you to try all kinds of shapes with this easy recipe.

Materials:
- Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue™

Miscellaneous
- Needle nose pliers
- Slice of white bread
- Jump rings, clasps
- Decorative paper clips in spirals, flowers, hearts
- Acrylic paint (for colored clay)
- Plastic bags
- Craft stick

Step 1: Remove Bread Crust

Remove crust from the bread slice, and discard crust.Tear bread into small pieces and put into a disposable cup or bowl.

Step 2: Add Tacky Glue

Add 1 tablespoon of tacky glue. Mix with craft stick until well blended.

Step 3: Knead Dough

Place ball into plastic bag. Knead until smooth and pliable.

Step 4: Color Dough

To color, add paint to dough or wait until dry and paint with paint.

Step 5: Form Center of Project

Take a pinch of dough and roll it into a ball. Flatten the ball into a flat circle. Roll the circle to into a cylinder to form the center of the rose.

Step 6: Add More Petals

Continue to make petals and add to the rose until it is the size you desire.

Step 7: Finish Rose

Pinch any excess clay from the bottom of the rose. Roll the excess clay into a ball and flatten it. Press a spiral paper clip into the clay. Place the clay rose over the paper clip and press it gently into the excess clay to encase the clip. Set aside to dry.

To make necklace:
Repeat the process until you have enough roses on clips to form a bracelet or necklace. Let the clay roses dry overnight.

Join the rose clips together with jump rings and add clasps to complete.

Step 8: Make Other Shapes and Creations

Turn the dough into various shapes and creations!  These make great jewelry accents for pins, earrings, pendants,charms, and headbands!
