P.S. this ible is a little time consuming but the finished outcome will be worth it.
This isnt something you will probably whant to do to all your textbooks(unless you want to), but its great for books that you probably carry around all the time.
Step 1: Materials
2. A ruler
3. pen(prefferably bright)
4. textbook of your choice
5. and scissors
Step 2: Making the Fabric
First lay down a strip of tape sticky side up a tiny bit taller than the hight of your textbook. Then lay down another strip of tape about the same length on top of that strip of tape halfway down face down. Fold the sticky part of the first tape over the face down tape. It might sound complicated, but its pretty easy. Flip that entire piece over and put another piece of tape face down, same length, on the sticky part of that piece. Keep repeating this process until you get a fibric about 6 inches longer than your books length when it is flat OPEN.
Step 3: Making the Fabric Neater
After you finish the fabric, you need to cut off the ugly edges( unless you made it perfectly perfect). Using the ruler and the pen, draw a STRAIGHT line on both sides of the fabric with the edges being the length of the first strip of tape. Cut those lines with the scissors as straight and as carefully as you can.
Step 4: Fixing the Fabric for Book
This step will probably take a lot of adjusting to fit the fabric to your book.
Make sure the fabric runs off at least 3 inches on each side of the book when it is flat open. Mark the lines on the edges of the book on the fabric to know where you need to fold the fabric. Make sure the height of the fabric is not to tall for the book.
Step 5: Folding the Flaps
Step 6: Just Add Book!
Well thats all folks! Go out and show your cover with pride...or just keep it in your room:)
P.S. Take it a step further! Add patterns of tape, different colors, brightness, decorate, you can do so many add ons to this book cover! Have fun!
