This is my entry for the pocket sized contest, I guess, so here goes.
My brother and sister both own I-pods, but i own a lowly Walkman. So my 11 year old mind pondered the thought for a while, and came up with this. A mint case wit a plastic cover turned into a funky earphone case, that you can plug your Walkman into easily, and pull the earphones ou of the plastic. Another advantage is that the earphones don't seem to get tangled like they get hanging loose in your pocket Because of the retracting into the case. (By the way i mean the digital Walkmans, not the tape ones). This is my first Instructable, and the pictures and descriptions could be better, so please tell me how I could improve the design, Or my presentation skills! Enjoy!
P.s I know most projects like this are made of "Altoids tins" but I live in the U.K and I'm not sure we have them.

Step 1: The Materials

You will need,
A mint tin with a plastic cover.
Some old earphones (or new ones if you're confident!)
A drill or sharp object.
A music player
Glue, the stronger the better.

Step 2: Remove the Plastic Casing

Remove the covering of the mints. I found this easier if you push on one point until it goes down. and then pull on the raised side. Remember to keep the casing intact.

Step 3: Drill a Hole in the Side

Drill or stab a hole in one of the sides, normally the one furthest from the casing hole. Make the hole big enough so the rubber bit surrounding the plug can get through. Oh yeh and try not to make holes in the surface you're working on... or your hand.

Step 4: Thread the Jack Through the Hole in the Casing

Thread the jack through the hole in the casing, stick it into the wall hole (enough till the walkman can just plug in), and super glue the jack to secure it in the hole.

Step 5: Replace the Casing

Replace the plastic casing (Picture 1). You may have to cut off one securer to make it fit (Picture 2).Thread the earphones through the hole. Super glue the casing if necessary. Keep the actual earphones out of the hole (picture 3).

Step 6: Finished!

Well, if your reading this and you have a hole driven through your hand, you've probably finished. Congrats! Plug your walkman in, pull out the earphones, and listen to some smooth jazz, rocking rock, heavy metal, perfect punk or philharmonic orchestra. Don't forget to subscribe, rate and comment!
