this was not my idea, i found it on youtube.

and you can buy springs anywhere.
and also coat the flint in the lighter fuel to give it a quicker heating time
try tossing them on top of coals they heat up, glow, then explode
Yeah, it's hot.
I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS AT ALL. This is very dangerous in that as the Mg deflagralates there is a great potential for extremely hot particles (or sparks) to destroy your eyes... even with glasses, it may manage to fall behind them and it will stick to and burn flesh on contact...
If you are interested in building Flash Bangs, please use a safer alternative where a control distance may be maintained.
Mg and Potassium Perchlorate for instance makes a terrific flash bang, dangerous? - YES, but it can be initiated from a safe distance.
NEVER IGNITE EXPERIMENTAL EXPLOSIVES / FIRE WORKS / ETC in your hand, under handed toss or not. DON'T DO IT.
Incidently, the mixture I reffered to above is similar to what I was playing with in my profile picture, and that was only a couple grams.

Is that all you can say? Seems you are a man of VERY few words. Just ONE
Gravity Bombs as I know them, come down that fast, they go deep into the ground, and destroy underground bunkers. Like in the last Irga war.
WW2, the British One Ton bomb did the same, they could go through metres of concrete and just one or twocould write off one of the U-boat shelters in France, after months of conventional bombing hard dented them. They were designed by the same guy, who did the spinning bombs used by the DAM Busters.
He was more like an accountant/bomb designer, his bombs were cost effective in resources and lives.
Hey, he was a Aspie too.
Maybe one gravity bomb can go so deep, as to split this planet in half, then we find all the people and countries fighting each other, spilt up opposing sides, give each side their own half planet. The few of us left over, can go off to the moon, and watch the two half planets nuke each other to extinction. Problem solved.
We all lived happily ever after.
Remind me if you done any other project yet?
BTY, just welcoming a new Aspie over on the 10 good traits of a Aspie forum topic.
As for me, I keep falling over, a cop I know saw me, stopped to ask why, it looked like I was drunk, he knew I have never boozed in my life. Anyway, saw a neurologist yesterday, he told me to stand at attention (I could only barely) and shut my eyes.
I went to the right, corrected for that, then he caught me before I hit the ground on my left side.
Ergo, going to get another ride thru the CT scanner soon. My head. Only my feet left to scanned after that.
Try that test on yourself. (just in case, make sure you dont hit something on the way down) My GP or MD, tried every test they knew, none made fall as fast as that. in fact, i did not fall.
Anyway, the CT scanner is only the second most relaxing place for me in the THIS world, the best place for relaxing in THIS whole world is my dentists chair. I am very bad at looking after my teeth, yet the dentist says, I got lost less fillings than most people of my age, and there has been no drilling rig inside my mouth for years
Well, that shows one thing works okay still, my teeth.
Peter.

"How come no ones commenting?"
Despite your warnings and disclaimers, when somebody does get hurt by use of your instructable, you will still be morally responsible if not legally responsible.
Could you live with yourself, knowing somebody has been maimed for life?''
I note this is your first attempt, I suggest you can do a lot better, with a more appropriate topic, and I will watch out for it, in case you deserve a lot nicer comment than this one.
Have a great day.
It seems to me that there is a difference between informing and "putting the gun in the hand, loading, cocking, and aiming it", so to speak.
Furthermore, if the reader is dumb enough to attempt something dangerous with a disclaimer, then why should Visper feel bad if they maim themselves?
Stop flogging a dead horse Skate, in my mind, Visper has more common sense than you because he understood what I meant first go.
He is from Auz, I am from NZ, and its you jokers whom bombed Japan with the first A-bomb, when Japan were goners already, in affect, your people PLAYED with the biggest most destructive bomb ever, just to see what it could do. All that was needed to end the war, was to blockade Japan until they decided to surrender, no invasion was needed at all.
The USA itself decided it was legal to drop the bomb on civil ins, babies, 5-years olds, 10-year olds, but still a lot of your citizens decided they (The USA) were morally responsible, and more than one nuclear scientist felt so bad about the number of civilians babies and kids killed, that they killed themselves in remorse, holding themselves morally responsibly, if not legally responsible.
I am beginning to think a lot of people dont know what a "conscience" is.
And just for those who dont know, its that little voice in your head, that tells you that you are partly at least, responsible when bad things happen.
While not naming famous people that dont have a conscience, I will just say that such people are responsible for a lot of pain caused to people on this planet.
One of the milder examples, is the businessman out for a quick profit, who dumps toxic waste on the road side, rather than pay for proper disposal.
True, it is possible he could end up legally responsible (if legal proof was found) but it was his lack of a conscience that caused him to contaminate the environment in the first place.
Visper and myself had a on-going discussion, wide ranging, I found him okay albeit maybe a bit young to understand such things on his own accord, but he fully understands now.
For doubters,
Here is what moral responsibility means.
If you create a small bomb, and publish the plans, with every legal disclaimer you can think of, and a 5-year old kid loses his hand FOR LIFE, its that little voice in your head, named Conscience that will for ever and ever, point your OWN finger at you, and say "You are responsible"
That is the difference between Moral and Legally responsible.
There is one other important difference.
A legal punishment, for such things, is rarely more than a year or two, manslaughter might be 6-7 years, but your conscience will punish you for life, EVEN AFTER you finish your legal punishment.
A conscience can be so punishing, that some people wish that execution was still on the law books, I am thinking of some people imprisoned for life, every day, being reminded why they are no longer free.
I suppose I have to be honest, at 15, I was making match stick rockets.
I suppose people grow out of such things, have you got your next project under way yet?
Some years ago, a young kid in Australia, maybe 14-15, spotted a spider in his parents house, and quickly built a flame-thrower to exterminate it. But that was over-kill as he also managed to exterminate his parents half million dollar house.
Oops! (Insurance company refused to pay out)
I would have thought you had better judgement than the teachers at your school. But then, I left school maybe 150-years ago, (That is what it feels like at age 53) and today, I suppose teachers care even less about safety, as long as they themselves don't have to take responsibility.
Would you agree that your school should have steered you towards a safer project?
"Just choosing" to put it on instructables, still does not remove your moral responsibly, how would you feel in yourself if somebody younger than you, with less brains and common sense than you, permanently maimed themselves? (I have worked with such people, burns, can ruin the rest of your life, and some are blinded, or have lost hands, experimenting with such ideas)
Anyway, I am sure you will think twice now.
So what ideas have you got for your next Instructable ?
Look here for some free books, for ideas, its okay to turn some of these projects into Instructables, the books are copyleft (out of copyright), and the rules here allow for use of books like this.

I learnt heaps from those kinds of books. (BTW, the links are for anybody, not just Visper) and email me if you need some advice. I do not bear grudges.
I just set up a group http://www.instructables.com/group/aspies/ and I will be posting more such links there.
Look after yourself, sorry for my delay in replying, I just had a particularly bad day, was preparing for bed, then I recalled seeing your reply to my comment which was emailed to me, and I had forgotten to reply. I did it ASAP, I did not want you feeling too hurt, and I can see you know better now, so I put you out of your misery by replying this instant.
You try those links too

I will be watching for your next instructable (I just subscribed to you)
:-) Peter.
Whatever, I am going crazy myself with that apparent paradox. . See you later.
Is there a 3rd personality? Could it be its just you and me on Instructables?
:-)
But delay too long, somebody will beat you to it, and take the credit.
Seeing you just put the basic idea into the public domain, there are now at least 50 people racing to beat you.
Try this test
http://www.instructables.com/community/test/ is my new forum, I bet if you do it honestly, the picture will have a peak on compulsion, pointing left or right, question is which. My should weight towards the right.
Try where I get stuff from. My friends work there, we call the place affectionately "Trash" but its high up above the city which is at sea level, so gets very cold in winter. The apparent mural to the right of the picture is the truck that collects materials, each household gets 2 per year, but me and friends living near each other share pick ups. People also drop off materials.
About 100 Km north of here, at Palmerston North, their recycling gives everything to local charity shops to on-sell, but apparently, they have a large warehouse just to on-sell recycled computer parts.
So, when will you be arriving in NZ then? PS we are 12 hours ahead of GMT/UTC here, bedtime for me shortly.
