How to make a Sparkler Rocket

This instructable will show you how to make an easy Sparkler Rocket from every day materials around the house. The Rocket is capable of flying 25m+ in the air if made correctly. One Rocket should take around 20 minutes to make.

Step 1: Materials

" 35 to 50 sparklers (35 is fine)
" One thick cardboard tube used for gladrap etc., not toilet rolls (too thin)
" A 17cm by 17cm wide (or thereabouts) piece of plaster mesh
" One 40cm piece of dowel or bamboo (must be light)
" One pipe which the dowel can easily fit in and out of
" A peg or sharp stick
" Masking tape (burning duct tape, sticky tape etc. stuffs up your lungs)

Obviosly you guys are more professional than me but if you try it, it will actually work. Thanks for the tips I will try to make an improved version some time. I will post a video soon enough.

You want to strip the coating from the wire and re-pack it. Maybe using a light-binder such as PVA glue. And your tube needs to be thicker to contain the pressure needed to generate lift.
This will burn, but it won't get off the ground.

Please take extreme caution if you are foolish enough to try this. It will not fly. Fireworks fly because they have an ignition charge and a casing around that charge that is strong enough to direct it downward (creating lift). This is literally a hot ball of magnesium that's going to spark everywhere and burn you.

Sorry, it won't work. The proximity of all the sparklers together in this way would ignite all of the sparkler's magnesium at once. This results in a fireiy explosion and hot metal thrown all around. From the scars on my hand I can attest that this is not an experience you want to sit four hours in the ER for.

if you cut one end of the launch tube at a sharp angle you can stick it in the ground without the steak
